In Zeta, we recognize that parents and their daughters have a special relationship. Whether parents are helping their daughter pay their Zeta dues or give her constant emotional support throughout her time at Drury, ZTA wants parents to be involved in their daughters’ Zeta journey. When a Drury student becomes a Zeta new member, her parents will begin to receive monthly newsletters from the chapter Parent/Alumnae Chair. These newsletters serve as the connection between parents and the chapter, notifying them of chapter news and events.
The parent/Zeta connection does not stop at just parent newsletters. Each fall, we hold a Parent Brunch that coincides with Drury’s Parent Weekend where parents can see their daughters, meet her sisters, and learn more about her Zeta experience! At the Parent Brunch, parents participate in a silent auction to raise funds for our philanthropy. Parents have the opportunity to make a themed basket or participate in the auction. Last year, over $1,000 was raised for the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation thanks to our generous Zeta parents.
We host dad's day in the fall semester and mom's day in the spring semester. We make reservations at a local restaurant, have a fun activity for parents and daughters to participate in together, and make sure to snap lots of pictures!
